Here’s the first clip from Robert Pattinson’s new film, Cosmopolis.
Directed by David Cronenberg and based on a novel of the same name by Don DeLillo Cosmopolis is due to premiere at Cannes Film Festival later this month and from what we’ve seen so far it’s shaping up to be a real must-see.
Pattinson plays Eric Packer, a 28-year-old asset manager who just happens to be a multi-millionaire. He has only the best things in life including a pimped out Limo complete with bulletproof glass, computer monitors, TVs and sound proofing. The film follows Packer’s life as it descends into utter chaos over a one-day period.
During the day we see Packer travel through the city trying to get a haircut however due to a presidential visit, a rappers funeral and a riot he finds himself caught up in traffic for the majority of it. All the while the yuan’s exchange rate, which Packer bet against, is mounting and he finds himself losing not only his fortune but the fortune of those he works for. He then discovers someone is trying to assassinate him.
If that action packed story and the chance to see Pattinson stretching his acting legs wasn’t enough for you Cosmopolis also stars Samantha Morton, Paul Giamatti, Jay Baruche, Kevin Durand and Juliette Binoche.
Cosmopolis is released on 25th May.
