Staying in tonight? Here’s our pick of the best three films on TV this evening…

A Clockwork Orange, 11.05pm, ITV4: You’ll have to stay up fairly late to catch this one but it’s a true film classic so if you haven’t seen it before it’ll be well worth keep your eyes open for. Acting as a social commentary on gangs, political and economical issues as well as the psychology of violence. It’s hard going but a great film.

A Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, 11pm, Film 4: Many years before Daniel Craig was trying his hand at this Swedish tale this original version was made and if you’ve only seen the latest version you need to check this one out. Not only is it far superior to the most recent release but it also stars the brilliant Noomi Repace and Michael Nyqvist.

Chain Reaction, 9pm, E4: Starring Morgan Freeman, Keanu Reeves and Rachel Weisz Chain Reaction is about the invention of a non-contaminating power source that the US government are desperately trying to stop other countries. However when the two people who invented it are framed for a murder they didn’t commit it becomes obvious that the government will stop at nothing.
