If you’re planning a quiet one this weekend there’s pretty much no better way to spend a weekend night than with a take away in front of a good film so here we’ve rounded up all the best films on TV this week…
The Beach, Friday 9pm, E4: It’s been a long time since we watched Leonardo DiCaprio in Danny Boyles 2000 hit The Beach so tonight is the perfect time to re-watch it. If you’ve not seen it before it follows the story of a young guy called Richard who travels to Thailand where he discovers a strange map which leads him to a secluded beach.
City of God, Saturday 10pm, Sky Movies: Based on a book of the same name City of God is rather hard going but also one of the best films of recent years. It follows two boys growing up in a violent Rio de Janeiro, one decides to become a photographer while the other becomes a drug dealer. It’s got subtitles though so make sure you’re not too tired to keep up.
Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Saturday 9pm, ITV2: Before Mila Kunis had even discovered tattoos and Jason Segel had even met the Muppets they were starring alongside Russell Brand in comedy Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Brand shines as rock star Aldous Snow, the role that lead him to becoming something of a Hollywood hit.
American Pie The Wedding, Sunday 10.10am, Sky Movies: If you’ve yet to catch American Reunion at the cinema this will be the perfect way to remind what you’re missing out on. Jim and Michelle are getting married which can only mean one thing, total carnage. This is the last film all the main actors starred in before taking a nine year break from the franchise.
Bride and Prejudice, Sunday 2.20pm, Channel 4: If you’re looking for some lazy Sunday afternoon viewing then this is one for you. A Bollywood-style adaption of the classic Pride and Prejudice and is also a musical so expect lots of elaborate costumes, singing and an F load of Bollywood dancing.
