Zandra Rhodes, Giles Deacon and Julien McDonald are among the designers who are redesigning the iconic London red telephone boxes as part of a new project for charity.
Just like the elephants and Faberge eggs before them the newly decorated phone boxes will be dotted around the streets of London in order to raise money for charity.
As well as fashion designers models like Lily Cole and architects like Zaha Hadid have also been busy customising the red telephone boxes which are going to go on display as part of the new BT Artbox project which celebrates 25 years since Childline was first started.
The telephone boxes will first be shown off at Harvey Nichols where they’ll stay from the 24th May until they are shifted to the streets of London. After we’ve all had a chance to try to find them all they will be auctioned off during an event at the National Portrait Gallery in order to raise money for the charity with a few of them even being put up for sale on eBay.
The above image is of Giles Deacon’s effort but you’ll have to wait just a few more weeks to see the rest.
