The London Transport Museum will be running vintage train journeys as part of Vehicles on the Move, The Art Deco Special on the 9th September.
You can geta special 38 stock tube train, the Sarah Siddons locomotive to the Amersham Heritage Open Day. Old fashioned trains will run all day between Harrow-on-the-Hill, via Rickmansworth and onto Amersham.
There will also be heritage buses if buses are more your thing including the Transport museums iconic Routemaster RM1. The buses will go between Amersham Station and Amersham town.
The transport museum are urging people to come ‘dressed to impress’ to take part in their best dressed passenger competition. If you win you get two tickets to the new Project X, not the film, a new immersive theatre experience.
To enter take a picture of yourself decked out at your most decadent and upload it to the Vehicles on the Move Flickr group by 9am on Monday 17 September. The winners will be announced on Monday 24 September.
This year the Transport Museum have teamed up with their near neighbour, Radio Days based in Lower Marsh Street beside Waterloo. They are offering a 10% discount when you present your heritage train ticket clothing.
