With the average person having 300 friends on Facebook it’s fair to say we all have a few social network pals we probably don’t want to keep up to date with and now a new tool will help you work out who to delete.
Facebook have today launched a new app that helps you work out what ‘friends’ to demote to ‘acquaintances’ and even suggests people you might like to delete entirely. The app looks at who you haven’t communicated with recently to work out who you should consider downgrading and also highlights people you might like to get rid of, it works by looking at who you’ve messaged, who has written on your wall and who you have chatted to on Facebook chat to work out who should go.
When you demote someone to an acquaintance you’ll automatically start seeing much less of them on your news feed, you do this by choosing people from a list of people you haven’t interacted with for a while like the picture above. The acquaintance list will soon be found next to your friend list where you’ll be able to control who you see and who you don’t without anyone being alerted to their new found status.
