Extraordinary Stories About Ordinary Things comes to The Design Museum at the end of January, 30th to be precise.
Issey Miyake’s 132 5. dresses will be featuring in the exhibition which will be permanent from its opening at The Design Museum until the museum moves to larger premises in 2015.
The key topic of Extraordinary Stories About Ordinary Things are the inventive uses of plastics and recycled materials and Issey Miyake’s dresses are just that.
Curator Gemma Curtain comments:
‘Issey Miyake’s work tries to find a balance between the practical and the beautiful, a concept that is as relevant today as it was when he started the fashion house. His constant experimentation with both forms and also production has kept him at the peak of international fashion and design.’
