Don’t you just hate it when you heard about an amazing exhibition but you can’t check it out because it’s abroad? Our new Exhibitions Abroad series gives you the chance to see the best bits of art from around the world. Today we look at the latest exhibition from Jeff Koons.
One of our all time favourite artists Koons is currently exhibiting his work at the Fondation Beyeler gallery in Switzerland and from what we’ve seen the exhibition is something of a retrospective for the artist.
Koons is best known for his reproductions of objects such as balloons out of mirror finished stainless steel and some of his most famous work is now on show at the gallery.
The exhibition is split into three sections ‘The New’ which documents Koons’ work from the 1980s, ‘Celebration’ which displays a series of large high-gloss steel sculptures and lastly ‘Banality’ which exhibits his wood and porcelain sculptures.
