Eley Kishimoto have collaborated with everyone from Tatty Devine to Duvel beer and BMW motorbikes and we’re very excited about their next team-up with Clarks.
To celebrate the designers’ 20th anniversary, Clarks have given over three of their shoe styles, including the iconic Desert Boot, to Mark Eley and Wakako Kishimoto who have adorned them with three of their trademark prints.
The capsule collection launched during London Fashion Week, September 2012 at an exhibition at The Aram Gallery in Covent Garden.
The collection includes a wedge sandal and a heeled court shoe. Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait some time to get our feet into them; the Eley Kishimoto & Clarks line will be available in limited distribution internationally from March 2013 in selected independent boutiques, department stores and selected Clarks shops.
Premium eBay fodder, each pair of shoes will come in a specially designed luxury shoe box and dustbag.
It’s another example of a cool, modern company teaming up with a classic institution, and we loved what it did for Florsheim and Duckie Brown. The ultra on trend pirnt aesthetic of a slick design duo like Eley Kishimoto and the British classic shoe company, Clarks.
With more collaborations with Mary Portas in the pipeline and an emphasis on comfort in design, we’re liking Clarks more and more actually.
