Bret Easton Ellis has taken to Twitter to start a campaign to persuade movie bosses to let him take on the film adaption of the highly talked about novel Fiften Shades of Grey.

We haven’t been able to step onto a tube carriage over the past few months without seeing a woman reading a copy of the E L James penned book and now the controversial author wants to have a stabbed at turning it into a film.

Described as porn for the housewife Fifty Shades of Grey tells the story of a young journalist who is coerced into a life of domination and S&M by an attractive and very persuasive millionaire.

Easton Ellis is of course best known for books such as American Psycho, Less Than Zero and Rules of Attraction with all of his books carry a very sexual theme so we reckon this one could be right up his street. Go on movie type folk, give him a shot.
