Who remembers Dunkin’ Donuts? If you are aged between 25 and 35 you should remember them well.
Well, it turns out that along with the fashions of the 90s the food of the 90′s might be set to make a return too. After pulling out of the UK in the mid 1990′s Dunkin’ Donuts is now due for some European expansion with 300-400 stores in the planning to roll out over Europe in the next 5 years.
Dunkin’ Donut’s sister chain is the hugely popular though sadly not available in the UK Baskin Robins, if only they could come to our shores too. The ice cream chain do an amazing Rainbow Sherbert and a Rocky Road that for me, has never been matched.
But what is to come with Dunkin’ Donuts are Munchkins, not little people but little donut balls, great for sharing and great for a lack of guilt because they’re only small.
Germany is first on the hitlist for the new stores to branch out to but the brands president, Nigel Travis has said that there was “enormous interest” in the Dunkin’ Donuts brand in the UK, and said it was “investigating how the parent company could supply a network of franchise shops”.
Yey.
