Novikov restaurant, usually based in Mayfair is upping sticks and moving to Docklands this Friday to create a beach where people can watch the Opening Ceremony.

The beach will be based at Waterside House in Royal Victoria Dock as of the 27th July. It’s not the first beach that has sprung up in the city recently either what with Camden getting a bit of the sand and sun too.

There will be a ticketed party on Friday to celebrate the arrival of the games and beach goers will be treated to a BBQ, grazing dishes and cocktails as well as DJs co-ordinated by Ibiza legend John Beach.

The Novikov in Mayfair will still be open as usual and also be showing the Ceremony on big screens.
