Dita Von Teese has collaborated with makeup company, Artdeco on a range of 13 beauty products.

Selling in Debenhams now, the range includes gel eyeliner, statement lippies, false eyelashes and pillar box red nail varnish.

So far, so predictable, but it’s the makeup tips from the queen of burlesque herself, listed beside the products online, that we’re really liking.

If you’ve ever struggled with 50s flicky eyeliner (we tend to overdo one eye, making us look a bit Clockwork Orange) you’ll want to try out Von Teese’s tips. “Start with a thin line at the inside corner, slowly working your way to the outside corner, taking care not to draw the line too thick just yet,” says Dita.

“I go back and forth slowly working on one eye and then the other, noticing where I need to draw more thickly to make the shapes match each other.”

As you’d expect from someone who makes her living looking achingly glamorous, some of the information is a bit can-we-really-be-bothered. We’re yet to spend ages layering eyeshadow, highlighting brow bones and the like just to pop to the shops, but we love the classic shades and the emphasis on day-long durability.

In light of having cocked up red lips far too many times, we’ll be taking Von Teese’s advice and investing in a lipliner, too. She says, “I like to lightly fill in the entire lip area for extra staying power and to create a nice deep base for my red lipstick… remember, with red lipstick, the key is to be precise!”
