Diageo has had to go to Brewdog with their tail in between their legs after an independent bar award was rigged so that Brewdog (voted the winners) did not receive the award.
Brewdog, recently opened in Camden are not only a bar but a brewer of beer too making many a great brew and they had expected to win ‘Bar Operator of the Year’ at a recent Diageo sponsored bar event.
However when it came to the award being given out it wasn’t given to Brewdog at all but to someone else at the awards dinner. The incorrect winner refused to accept the award as it had Brewdog engraved on it.
This however wasn’t a mix up, Diageo had told the organisers of the event that under no circumstances was the award to go to Brewdog.
Everyone has been a little stunned at the blatant fixing of the event and Diageo has since apologised.
However this hasn’t stopped Brewdog from writing it all up on their blog, nor has it stopped the whole topic trending on Twitter.
Dear Brewdog – we’re behind you!
