It’s the start of a new year, which should be a time for wiping the slate clean and forgiving your enemies, if you are enough of an idiot to have actually made any. But as the first trailer for Dead Man Down suggests, there’s always room for a grudge or two.

Featuring Colin Farrell, Noomi Rapace and Terrence Howard, it’s a revenge thriller filled with slow-mo guns fights, sexual tension and excessive stoicism.

Rapace has become a rising star ever since her turn in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, while Farrell is enjoying a bit of a renaissance at the moment, so Dead Man Down will hopefully be a mildly diverting movie, even if it’s covering some well-worn topics and has a silly name.

The US release is in March, with a UK debut yet to be confirmed. We’ll try to update the trailer when a less juddery version is made available.
