Damon Albarn is to bring his African Express Tour to London later this year along with the likes of Bombay Bicycle Club.
For those not already aware of the African Express it’s a project that Albarn set up back in 2006 and includes a group of African and Western musicians and DJs touring the UK to do pop up gigs. The idea started six years ago when Albarn was joined by the likes of Jamie T.
This September the Blur frontman will be bringing the Express back and will be playing a number of gigs at railway stations, schools, factories, houses and shopping centres all over the UK. Things will be rounding off in London’s Granary Square where the musicians will be performing a closing concert on 8th September.
