If you’re heading to Notting Hill Carnival this bank holiday weekend you might be interested to know that the Metropolitan Police are having a real crack down on trouble makers this year.
Carnival is one of the best days out in the London calendar with colourful processions, music and dancing galore but it has also be tainted with trouble over the years. In a bid to crack down on any more of that kind of thing this year a number of arrests have been made over the past few days of those the police suspect of wanting to cause disruption.
Those arrested included gang members and known drug dealers who may have been hoping to operate during the two day event which takes place this Sunday and Monday (26 – 27th August).
The police will also be using wands and their dogs to scan people who may be carrying weapons and drugs into the free event.
