Hawksmoor is running at a fast pace in London with a new restaurant added to the now chain earlier in the year complete with separate dedicated cocktail bar and now news of a fourth restaurant that will include both seafood and added ‘glamour’.
There is not a single person I know that having been to Hawksmoor has not voted it the best steak restaurant in London. Such is the restaurants reputation that I now know barely anyone that hasn’t been.
I am worried however that with the speedy rise and extra addition of each new housing that the Hawksmoor needs to be wary of loosing it’s status. We don’t want them to spread themselves too thinly.
With this fourth edition the emphasis is put on seafood as well as steak, something we have no doubt that they will do well. The new location will be Regent Street and the launch month October.
The new opening has already been tipped by GQ as the most anticipated opening of the year for the London restaurant scene and beyond.
Head chef Oliver Clark has been researching seafood in Cornwall, he feels that the success of Hawksmoor has been the stripped back menu and great sides. “What we do here is so simple… everything has to be that exacting degree.”
Clark has also said that the new restaurant will be more glamourous though we have yet to have any confirmation on wether the prices will go up as well as the decor. He has only said, ”It’s going to have similar atmosphere, art deco interior and hopefully prices, but we’re also going to have properly sourced seafood and shellfish.”
