We thought that collar tips were an accessory reserved for cow boys but it seems like they’re about to become a massive, massive trend.

We first stumbled across collar tips (accessories for the tips of your collars, see pictures above to see them in action) in Topshop a few days ago when we noticed that they were selling them in their jewellery section and now after a bit of looking around it seems people are going crazy for them.

The trend was started by Balenciaga who introduced collar tips to their accessories line last year, inspired by typical Western shirts the began to raise a few eyebrows with a handful of fashion blogs tipping them as the next big thing.

But that was about the extent of the trend at the time, we didn’t notice any copy-cat designs popping up and so put it down to a passing fad. That is, until now. It seems the high street are going crazy for them with Asos also launching a collection of them over on their website and Etsy is also bursting at the seams with people selling their custom made designs.

So how to you wear collar tips? Well the answer is simple really. Any way you like. Just pick a pair that compliment your shirt, stick them on and wait for the compliments to start flooding in.
