There was one nail varnish that stole the show at London Fashion Week this year and that was Butter London.
Last year it was certainly Minx but this year designers opted in for a more subtle look with the nail varnish that is being branded as foundation for your nails. So who was using them? Well, Simone Rocha used the straight up nail foundation with the make up artist commenting that ‘The matt finish gives a velvety, expensive look. These matt, nude nails helped to add to the clean, pure look of the collection’. JS Lee used a black and a white option specially mixed from the Butter London nail foundation range.
Craig Laurence used a dusty dark gold and Matthew Williamson used a real life cheek sort of pink for his models. Our favourite however we think was Michael Van Der Ham’s choice of a sort of very subdued violet.
It seems we may be seeing a return of more neutral, less hectic nails for AW/12.
