The Old Crown pub might not look much from the front, which you’re find on New Oxford Street but inside it is serving some burgers that are getting people talking, that of Burger Breakout.
Inside the pub is cosy, traditional and it has a roaring fire (just right for the weather today). It also has a brand new menu courtesy of Dave Aherne (aka Cork Gourmet Guy) which is the point of this post. Dave has completely re-vamped the menu to add his now very well revered Breakout Burgers alongside a selection of ribs, chicken wings, tacos and more.
Highlights on the menu, and what’s creating the queues outside the pub at lunchtime are the The O.C. Burger, a Devon Long Horn 8oz beef patty, smoked onion jam, 3 cheese sauce, hot pickle, lettuce, tomato & house made 1000 island dressing and our favourite the The Bambi Bought it - venison patty, brie, beetroot pickle, chocolate & quince BBQ sauce.
The pub also has a 50s night with beers burgers and bowling on Sundays and Mondays.
