A bomb scare has taken place at the Whittington Hospital in Archway this afternoon.

According to Twitter reports roads around the hospital have been closed and buses are currently on detour while a bomb squad is sent in. It all happened after a suspicious package was found in the ER department of the hospital.

Buildings in the area are currently being evacuated however obviously the hospital is in a bit more a tricky situation as they have patients inside that they can’t readily get outside to safety.

That’s about all we know on the situation at the moment but we’ll bring you more when we hear it.

Update: According to reports the hospital is now reopening and the package wasn’t anything to worry about after all.
