Blur are to reveal a ‘real tear-jerker’ at their Hyde Park show this Summer according to the bands bass player Alex James.
Speaking during an interview on Top Gear James revealed that the band, who recently received the Outstanding Contribution To Music award at the Brits, will be performing an as-yet untitled new track at their Olympic Closing Celebration Concert this August. Speaking during the interview James said, ‘We’ve got a new song to unveil, I just listened to it this morning… it’s like a hymn, a real tear-jerker’.
While the band have yet to confirm if they’ll be putting out a new album the producer William Orbit recently took to Twitter to reveal he’d been working on tracks for the band. Blur are set to headline the Olympic Closing Celebration Concert on 12th August in Hyde Park, they’re due to play alongside The Specials and New Order.
