Now entering its 56th year the BFI London Film Festival has announced some big changes to the way it works and its programme
There are two main changes for this years festival that is set to shake things up a bit not only for film makers but also for UK cinema goers.
The first of the two changes will see four categories (the best film award, the first feature film prize, the Grierson award and the Sutherland award) being presented to winners across three sections; official competition, first feature competition and documentary competition.
The second change will see the BFI London Film Festival introducing seven new programme categories that will focus on themes of love, challenge, debate, adrenalin, journeys, cult and laughter.
The annual film festival sees some of the biggest names in film, as well as new film makers, hitting London to premiere films and documentaries as well as to take part in talks, debates and other film focused events.
The BFI London Film Festival takes place between 10th – 25th October.
