This week saw a glittering range of famous names lend their talents to some of the best beauty brands on the market.
MAC x Beth Ditto
Following in the footsteps of other stars like Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj (and let’s not forget, Miss Piggy), Beth Ditto is the latest musician to release a limited edition range with MAC. The vibrant, colourful 25-part collection includes a range of pastel nail lacquers with names like ‘Near Beth Experience’ and ‘Vagabondage’, and a polka-dotted ‘Power To The People’ eyeshadow palette. We like!
Max Factor x London Olympics
Putting a fashionable face on all those sweaty sporting activities, Max Factor have revealed the official makeup look of London 2012. The ‘Sports Chic’ style layers plush purple and gold accents (as inspired by RCA’s official victory costumes) onto a natural-looking foundation base. All female athletes will wear the look during each medal award ceremony at the Games (all 805 of them!).
YSL x Jessica Chastain
Oscar nominee Jessica Chastain has been revealed as the face of YSL’s latest fragrance, ‘Manifesto’, named after the label’s bi-annual publication. Redhead Chastain (who took lead roles in ‘The Help’ and ‘The Tree of Life’) will join the ranks of YSL-selected names like Emily Blunt, who recently modelled for the brand’s ‘Opium’ fragrance. ‘Manifesto’ is scheduled to hit stores this September. Will the campaign be as notoriously provocative as Sophie Dahl’s ‘Opium’ campaign was? Here’s hoping…
Shu Uemura x Karl Lagerfeld
Shu Uemura have announced that Karl Lagerfeld will be collaborating with the brand on a special one-off makeup collection. Set to release this November, ‘Karl Lagerfeld for Shu Uemura’ will embody the designers “Iconic, ironic style”. We loved the cosmetic line Lagerfeld worked on with Sohpora last year, so fingers crossed this one will be just as good.
