It’s the moment that all fans of good-quality films have been dreading. Baywatch the movie has been given the go-ahead by film producers and it’s going to star non-other than David Hasselhoff.

The Hoff confirmed that he will be playing a cameo part, as himself rather than his original character, continuing his movie career which has also included quality releases such as Piranha 3DD.

Despite the fact the film’s been in development since 2004 it’s only just getting off the ground now, some 8 years later. The rumour mill has now gone into overdrive with reports suggesting that Justin Timberlake is due to star alongside singer-come-actress Jessica Simpson.

According to Hasselhoff in an interview with The Metro the majority of the original characters are being recast for the film to ensure that it stays ‘contemporary’.
