As far as marketing campaigns go filmmakers would be well advised to take a leaf out of Christopher Nolan’s book because everything he’s done for The Dark Knight Rises has been mind blowing.

Without overloading us Nolan and his team have teased and treated in equal measure with their viral marketing campaign for The Dark Knight Rises. And now they’ve stepped it up a gear with this new billboard which can currently be seen over in LA.

To highlight the films release in less than a month the billboard sports a giant Batman shaped whole in the middle of it. The design team behind the advert have even left derbies behind to add to the realistic effect which all fans of the films are going to be desperate to see with their own eyes.

The Dark Knight Rises is released in the UK on 20th July.
