Bat For Lashes has announced she’s making a musical comeback after a year away from the music scene. Her last album, Two Suns had a relatively quiet release in 2009.
She will be a welcome addition to festival rosters this summer and no doubt be welcomed back with open arms by her loyal army of fans.
Ivor Novello winning Bat For Lashes managed to cross the board with her followers over her two album spree between 2006 and 2009 by focusing an awful lot on her theatrical imagery and short film music videos ( we all remember the bicycles right?).
Now, 32 year old Natasha Khan intends to mark her return with an intimate show at Cambridge Junction (so not too far for us Londoners to travel) which will see her previewing material from her her third album which we are told will again have some short films attached.
Firm Bat fans have been playing ‘guess the third album title’ for almost two years now and they are probably still hard at it as the album is still yet to be named but is rumoured to be out around June this year.
The singer took 18 months off from performing live to concentrate on the follow up to her 2009 release Two Suns and this will be the first chance fans of the Daniel singer will get the chance to hear what she’s been up to.
The Cambridge Junction gig will also act as a warm up to a summer full of festival appearances including Bestival, Latitude and festivals in Holland, Germany, Norway, Spain, Ireland and Denmark.
