If your journey into work involves travelling on the Bakerloo Line then there’s no doubt that you would have had an awful journey this morning as the line has been suspended for a rather bizarre sounding reason.
The line was suspended this morning between Piccadilly Circus and Elephant and Castle due to an obstruction in tunnel at Embankment’. At the moment it sounds like TfL don’t really have much of a clue about what’s going on with speculation suggesting that it’s either due to part of the tunnel collapsing or because a tube hit a mysterious and as yet unidentified object.
There’s reports that all the damned rain has made part of the tunnel bulge and a tube could have hit that causing part of the tunnel to fall in although that’s not been confirmed yet.
Whatever’s happened it’s causing real misery for anyone who is trying to travel on the line and it doesn’t look like it’s getting fixed any time soon with still no word on when or if the line will be back up and running. Keep an eye on this post as we’ll update it when we’ve heard a bit more about what’s happening.
