We find it very strange that Azealia Banks has come out and publicly announced that she hates hipsters (see image). Actually, sorry who we kidding, we’re not surprised at all.

A female singer that rants on Tumblr, gets picked up in the Karl Lagerfeld fashion whirl, has her music played to fashion week catwalks and wears fake prescription glasses… it’s really no wonder that she hates hipsters….

We love Azealia’s music, or at least we did right up until she released her recent mixtape Fantasea, which we found pretty lacking but is it in any way interesting nowadays to have a big mouth when you are in the public eye?

After playing east London’s hipster central, Hackney Weekend wearing studs, chains, a fishnet top and Dame Edna glasses Azealia decided to Tweet :

“I really hate hipsters. That’s one type of person I can’t stand,”

And

“Hipsters are those socially inept cornballs who at any given moment have to bring you down about dumb shit like musical knowledge n clothes.”

And

“You can be cool and not be a hipster. The word hipster is whack too. Cool ppl r just cool.. Hipsters always have to force it.”

So Azealia, what would you class yourself as?
