Apple is the oddest phenomenon. The frenzies it creates for new products are really quite mental and this morning the Regent Street Apple shop for the launch of the new iPad was no different.
Over in the States as the new iPad came out Co-Founder Steve Wozniak started the line for the new Apple product the iPad 3 / iPad HD / New iPad as apparently he often does.
The iPad 3 (that’s what we are calling it for arguments sake) came out today in the USA and last night the Apple Co-founder checked in on Foursquare at the Westfield Mall in California to start the line to get one.
The new iPad 3 tablet is available now for order in the UK online and came out at the Apple shops this morning.
Zohaib Ali, 21, from Uxbridge, north-west London, was first in line outside the flagship Apple store on London’s Regent Street on Friday after queuing for five whole days.
‘The iPad is the best product of the year and there won’t be any more until 2013 so I am happy to queue. I love Apple products,’ he said.
We’re not sure we would queue for 5 days rather than wait five days for the hype to die down but each to their own.
See the video above of Steve Wozniak being interviewed in the Apple queue this morning. He talks about the new iPad and his general excitement for Apple products.
