It’s been four years since the last X-Files film was released and ten years since the TV series ended but now rumour has it another film is in the works.

The whispers began when star of the franchise David Duchovny revealed during an interview that he’d love to see Mulder and Scully returning to the big screen for more adventures. Talking to Collider Duchovny said, ‘I would love to do another film, or more. I think we’re all game for it. I know I’m kind of perplexed that Fox isn’t more [enthusiastic].’ He also hinted at how the story would move on talking about even though we haven’t been watching them Mulder and Scully ‘those characters are forever searching. That’s what they do. Even if we’re not watching them, they’re out there, in some dimension.’

Of course nothing has been confirmed yet and as Duchovny points out Fox aren’t quite on board yet but fingers crossed we could be in for another installment soon.
