Here’s the first trailer for Keira Knightley’s new period drama film, Anna Karenina.
For those who didn’t study the Leo Tolstoy novel that this film is based around in their A-level English classes listen up as we’re going to attempt to explain what the film is all about.
Anna Karenina is set in Russia during the late 19th century and tells the story of a woman who married an aristocrate not out of love but to provide a better life for herself. While dealing with her unhappy marriage and raising her young child she meets a wealthy Count who sweeps her off her feet and shows her the real meaning of true love. The story is one of passion and woe in which everyone around Karenina is influenced by her decisions.
Also starring Jude Law, Aaron Johnson, Emily Watson, Kelly Macdonald and Olivia Williams the film has a really strong cast and if this first trailer is anything to go by the film is going to be really very beautiful.
Anna Karenina is released on 7th September.
