It’s LGBT Pride Month, and to celebrate, American Apparel has brought out a series of t-shirts with pro-gay statements, such as ‘GAY O.K’ and ‘LEGALISE GAY’.
The clothing is modelled by Isis King, who is herself transgender. America’s Next Top Model fans may remember Isis, 26, from the eleventh series back in 2008.
The new collection of t-shirts and tank tops is made in association with the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) and 15 per cent of the profits from sales will go to the organisation.
American Apparel has caused a lot of controversy recently with its shocking fashion campaigns, involving images of girls with their breasts and pubic hair on display.
However, it seems American Apparel is taking a turn for the better with this political and charitable campaign for LGBT.
Has American Apparel redeemed itself, or is it just a marketing ploy? What do you think?
