Good news Alan Partridge fans, it’s been confirmed that he’s going to be the centre of a new film which is due to be released in 2013.
Penned by Armando Iannucci the film will centre around Norwich based TV presenter Partridge but that’s about all we know at the moment.
There have been rumours for years that the hugely successful TV show would be turned into a film but until now nothing has been confirmed.
The news was let slip during an interview with Empire when Iannucci told the magazine, ‘It’s just about all come together now, so that’ll be shot later in the year.’ He then went on to add, ‘At the moment it’s ‘The Alan Partridge Movie’ but that’s just a working title. [The script] is written [but] we’re always rewriting, rewriting and rewriting.’
The film is set to be directed by Declan Lowney who has previously worked on TV projects such as Little Britain, Cold Feet and Father Ted.
