We all know that one of the most annoying things about going on holiday is the amount of security we have to go through just to make it onto a plane. So how would you feel if the same security measures were introduced for the tube?
The reason we ask is because airport style security is apparently being considered for both the underground and mainline rail in a bid to crack down on the terrorist threat facing Londoners.
Of course to do it exactly how the airports do just wouldn’t be possible considering millions of people use the tube network everyday. Instead TfL and officials are considering mass equipment which can scan lots of people standing in one place e.g. the ticket hall or on an escalator.
The technology and logistics are currently being looked at and if it proves possible we could see this kind of security hitting stations as early as the end of the year.
