After telling you about the backlash from adidas’ shackle trainers designer Jeremy Scott has hit back at critics.
You may remember that earlier this week we told you how adidas had been criticised for glorifying slavery with their latest pair of trainers. The JS Roundhouse Mids caused 2,000 to complain saying that the orange plastic ankle shackles attached to the trainers were a reference to slavery.
Now designer Jeremy Scott has hit back saying that the shoes by a childhood toy known as My Pet Monster (which you can see in the image above) and he didn’t willingly mean to cause offense.
All plans to release the shoes have now been cancelled.
