As far as artists go San Francisco based Aaron Young has to be one of the most revered of recent times and since teaming up with film director Matt Black for a new art series he’s become more on our radar than ever before.
Young’s stripped back approach to art has been exhibited everywhere from London’s Serpentine Gallery to the Whitney Biennial in New York and it’s his performance element that has always impressed us so much.
Young often incorporates performers such as skateboarders and motorcyclists into his exhibitions showing his rebellious side at conforming to what people thing modern art should be.
Currently taking part in an exhibition entitled REBEL over in LA Young has taken some time out to talk about his ‘do whatever you want’ attitude that has influenced his work so far as part of a video feature for Nowness. You can check out the interview and learn more about Young above.
