You might remember us raving about Scala & Kolacny Brothers last year, the choir captured everyones hearts with their versions of Creep (Social Network Soundtrack) and more.
Well now they are coming out with a Christmas Album and in the mean time have released their cover of Lou Reed’s Perfect Day for you to listen to now here.
The alternative Christmas album will be called December and will be out on the 12th November. Scala & Kolacny Brothers really are shiver down spine kind of listening and we just can’t wait to hear the Christmas album.
The album came about because Steven Kolacny was constantly being asked for Christmas song renditions but he hated all the well known overly used Christmas hits. He finally gave in for a German radio station that persuaded them to try it and they turned to Facebook to ask fans which alt Christmas song they thought was for them.
What came through were bands like Pearl Jam, Linkin Park and the Smashing Pumpkins and it seems now that’s what we have in store this December.
The album will include Joni Mitchell’s River, Smashing Pumpkins’ Christmastime and Sufjan Stevens’ Christmas! Let’s be Glad.
You can catch Scala & Kolacny Brothers live at a one off show in Shepherds Bush Empire on Wednesday 26th September. Get your tickets fast if you want to see these guys before Christmas as it will be pretty packed.
