Could London have really just got the Christmas present of all Christmas presents? Could there really finally be a hangover cure that works?
The Bytox body patch claims to stop hang overs by simply sticking the patch, much like a nicotine patch to you arm. It calls itself a hangover prevention patch and unlike those Pretox drinks that we were told would stop our hangovers so we mixed them with vodka (maybe that wasn’t what we were supposed to do) this solution to hangovers might actually do something.
The patch has been called ‘game changing’ and is on sale ready for the Christmas party months – maybe every London bar should have a patch vending machine for the festive period.
Dr. Grossman a leader in plastic surgery recommends them, he is quoted on the site as saying :
“Only an intravenous stuck in your arm while drinking could be more effective than a Bytox patch. Bytox is the most effective, ready to use product available for the consumer of alcohol, who wants to be functional the day after…”
Apparently the patch works by letting a powerful Vitamin B complex soak into your skin along with some other bits and pieces that replenish what your body looses through drink.
The patches are only £12.99 for a pack of five, and you are instructed to put one on 45 minutes before drinking and leave it on until the next day.
You can try them out yourself through Firebox.
Of course there is the general consensus that these are not a good idea as anything that leads people to drink more without any consequence or knowledge of the damage you might be causing isn’t a good thing.
Prof David Nutt, former chief drugs adviser to the government, told the Metro : ‘I’d be very surprised if this product did what it says it does. It’s hard to imagine how those ingredients would stop a hangover. And I have never seen any published material on this at all.
This is all well and good but a little try over Christmas isn’t going to do much harm is it?
Thanks Santa.
