No you didn’t read that title wrong. Fifty Shades of Grey writer EL James has signed not one, but three licensing deals with fashion brands wanting to launch collections inspired by the novels.
Apparently the three different clothing brands will be releasing apparell inspired by the saucy story lines in the book including t-shirts, hoodies, lounge wear, underwear, tights and garters.
For a book that was basically unheard of six months ago Fifty Shades of Grey has certainly made an impact, even on those who haven’t read it yet. From sex classes hooked off the book to an album and a major film adaption in the works there’s no denying that despite the controversy over it’s fairly badly written content that this phenomenon shows no signs of slowing down.
The image above is from a taylors that has already started to make 50 Shades of Grey suits for men. Tailors Norton & Townsend has created a new collection, based on the book’s main character Christian Grey, which will feature 200 shades of grey suits.
As for the idea of female clothing lines inspired by the book they’ll probably be pretty kinky.
